Form I-90: Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card

Permanent residents use Form I-90 when they need to renew or replace their green card. This includes permanent residents whose 10-year green cards have or will be expiring in the next 6 months, as well as permanent residents whose green cards, for example, have been lost, stolen, damaged, or completely destroyed. Conditional Permanent Residents should not use Form I-90 to extend permanent resident status or renew green card.

Your Client will  NOT submit this form if they are seeking to remove conditions on your Green Card. If your client is a conditional resident, they must submit one of the following:

Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, to remove conditions on a Green Card obtained through marriage

OR

Form I-829, Petition by Entrepreneur to Remove Conditions, to remove conditions on a Green Card obtained through financial investment in a U.S. business.

Filing Fee: Most common is $455 and  A biometric services fee of $85 may also be required. The fee schedules vary based on filing reasoning. Explanation on next slide.
